Studies have shown that UV rays from sunlight can have treatment effects for vitiligo. Using actual sunlight for treatment, however, would require long hours, which can cause burns and other negative side effects. This has led to the development of artificial UV radiation equipment.

GRAFTING
What is
skin grafting?
Normal skin unaffected by vitiligo is thinly extracted and transplanted onto targeted areas. This surgery is done with the patient’s own skin, and therefore has no side effects and a high survival rate. Skin grafting can be done on any area of the body, and has semi-permanent effects.
