Put an end to all the itchiness!

PSORIASIS

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a skin disease in the form of small, scaly lesions. Rather than relying on unproven home remedies, it is essential to receive systematic treatment from a certified dermatology specialist.

Doctors of each gender are available at all branches.

Patients can request diagnosis and consultation from a female dermatologist at any Renewme Skin Clinic branch.
Treatment for psoriasis requires persistent treatment and care. At Renewme Skin Clinic, we combine laser treatment, UV ray treatment, and medication to treat psoriasis most effectively.

COMMONLY OCCURRING AREAS

  • Elbows
  • Scalp
  • Knees
  • Waist

CAUSES & SYMPTOMS

The exact causes of psoriasis are not yet known, but they are considered to be a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Major symptoms include itchy, red patches that sometimes appear symmetrically on the body.

TREATMENTS

PHAROS EXCIMER LASER

  • 1
PHAROS Excimer laser is the optimal treatment for vitiligo, psoriasis, and atopy.
  • 2
This is the same equipment and treatment you can receive at other major hospitals, but at a lesser price.
More About PHAROS EXCIMER
Studies have shown that UV rays from sunlight can have treatment effects for vitiligo. Using actual sunlight for treatment, however, would require long hours, which can cause burns and other negative side effects. This has led to the development of artificial UV radiation equipment.

UV RADIATION THERAPY

  • 1
    Extremely safe
  • 2
    No pain
  • 3
    Applicable to expectant mothers
  • 4
    No prior medication required

LOCAL UV RADIATION
UV radiation is targeted in specific areas after a topical ointment is applied. This treatment is recommended for 3 times a week, but sometimes 4 or 5 depending on the patients progress.

TOPICAL MEDICATION

Steroids or vitamin derivative ointments may be prescribed based on the scope and condition of the lesion.

OMEGA LIGHT

Near-infrared wavelengths of 640 nm from Omega light can help accelerate skin regeneration, treat psoriasis wounds, and relieve pain without exposing the skin to excessive heat or pain.

AGGRAVATING FACTORS

  • 1. EXTERNAL WOUNDS
Friction from clothes or wounds may trigger psoriasis (Koebner phenomenon).
  • 2. INFECTION
Psoriasis may also be aggravated by infections in the upper airway, strep throat, tonsilitis etc.
  • 3. CLIMATE
Psoriasis is known for worsening during cold, dry winters and improving in warmer climates.
  • 4. DRY SKIN
Psoriasis in itself can cause dry skin, but it also intensifies from dry heating systems or frequent sauna/baths by eliminating moisture and sebum from the skin.
  • 5. STRESS
Excessive stress aggravates psoriasis, which often occurs in high school students, office workers, or people who are in conflict with in-laws.
  • 6. MEDICATIONS
Lithium, beta blockers, chloroquine, indomethacin, etc. are medications that can aggravate psoriasis. Topical or oral steroid might offer temporary relief, but a cease in treatment could make the condition even worse.
